The BMW E26, also known as the BMW M1, is a sports car produced by BMW from 1978 to 1981. It was designed by Italian car designer Giorgetto Giugiaro and was the first mid-engined BMW car. The BMW E26 was powered by a 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine that produced up to 277 horsepower. It had a top speed of 161 mph and could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.5 seconds. The E26 was also fitted with advanced technology for its time, including digital displays and a race-inspired aerodynamic body.
